Hurricanes Blow Away the Sixers, Tens live
It was a dramatic turn of events and outcomes for Sydney Sixers, who claimed a strong victory against the Thunder yesterday but were blown away by a Hurricane in today’s 4th match of the Big Bash League in Australia.
Left-handed batsman and debutante for Hobart, D’Arcy Short, along with right-handed batsman, Tim Paine, were in a league of their own. They blasted 61 off 29 balls and 63 off 45 balls respectively, playing the most critical parts in accumulating the 200-run total eventually closed out by their team when the innings had run its course.
On the other side of the innings, Sydney Sixers had their fare share of commendable contributions, as Jason Roy knocked away a fair 40 off 22 balls before being stumped by TD Paine, while Sam Billings did his best to stay the course, with 42 runs off 33 balls, but was eventually bowled by Shaun Tait.
Overall, the challenge was a monumental task set for the Sixers, who would have had to pull off a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of feat that has only happened twice before in the BBL. Sean Abbott was a bowling standout for the Sixers, claiming two wickets, including that of Tim Paine at the cusp of his over-half century performance.
